The third trimester has started. Your growing belly is restricting your movements, but by keeping the right posture, exercising, relaxing and keeping a healthy diet you can lessen your complaints.
The expectant mother
Now it is clearly visible on your belly when the baby moves. Now you are able to tell apart his bottom from his elbow, and kicks from boxing movements. When he is kicking, soothe him by talking and caressing your belly. His feet are stronger so when he moves them it is stronger than his hand movements.
His movements are restricted by the narrow space, so he moves less and does it slower. The infant sleeps more than he is awake, and his movements are aimed at positioning himself, so they are scarce but more forceful which might feel unpleasant. Now he weighs 1,2 kilograms, controls his own body temperature and his bone marrow produces red blood cells. He urinates half a liter a day.
There are no compulsory examinations for this week. As the baby keeps growing, the static posture of your body changes, and there is more pressure on the upper part of your back and waist. So the special massage designed for pregnant women focuses on these areas, but treats the neck, shoulders and limbs as well. Find a good masseuse and pamper yourself.
Talk to your child as much as you can. This applies to the father as well, as his deep voice soothes the baby. Dear father-to-be! You should try to make it easier on your partner by helping her as much as you can and massaging her feet in the evenings whenever you can. You should start preparing to the arrival of the baby mentally as well. Try to reschedule your work to spend more time at home after delivery as your presence will surely be needed.
We have emphasized the importance of exercise before, so now we would like to recommend you swimming. Your belly is a heavy burden on your back and feet now, but being in water relieves some of the pressure and makes you feel free of the extra weight for a while.
