The X-rays gradually weaken as they cross the different tissues, and these weakened rays are projected on the film or screen positioned opposite of the source of the rays, thus creating an image of the inspected area.
X-ray examinations are used for the screening of abdominal organs in case of a suspected ileus, stomach or small bowel perforation. X-raying the pelvis, the spine and the limbs can reveal fractures, sprains, osteoporosis or pathological calcification. The technology can also be utilised in urology to examine the kidneys and the bladder.
At Dr. Rose Private Hospital we use up-to-date Philips equipment for both conventional X-ray examinations and mammography.
