The mammogram is able to show subtle structural differences of the soft tissues. Breasts are examined with an imaging technique that differs from ordinary X-ray in its physical parameters. During the procedure, the breast is placed on a metal plate and compressed by another plate. Holding this position, 2-2 images are taken from different angles.
The examination reveals or can imply the presence of benign and/or malignant tumors. Based on the Professional Medical College findings of 2010, Dr. Rose Private Hospital recommends women over the age of 35 to undergo mammography.
