Pediatric Orthopedy

The specialty of pediatric orthopedy is responsible for diagnosing and treating postural disorders in the arms, legs and spine. The most common orthopedic problems of children are hip dislocation, clubfoot, crooked neck and splay feet.

Children are first examined in early infancy, during weeks 4-6. Most problems can be cured by physiotherapy: exercising can prevent the disorder from becoming fixed and evolving into a more serious condition.

Out orthopedists are also concerned with the treatment of walking abnormalities and follow the child’s functional movement development. They can offer therapy for knock-knees, X feet, O feet, postural disorders, scoliosis, childhood splay feet, growing joint pains and developmental disorders. They examine the musculoskeletal system of teenagers, and they can give recommendation on which sport to choose. They also provide treatment and follow-up for sports injuries.
